(BEIJING, October 4) -- Various advanced technologies including shading technology, insulation technology, solar energy applications and GHP system have been adopted in the construction of the Olympic Green Tennis Center to make it energy efficient.
Zero-discharge sewage treatment
The Olympic Green Tennis Center has established a domestic wastewater treatment system using a biological sewage treatment method. With a 1,200-cubic meter reservoir, a 120-cubic meter balance tank and a 180-cubic meter neutral water tank, the sewage is 100 percent treated through membrane biological reactors before being recycled for watering.
GHP System for cooling and heating
The No. 2 court is equipped with the geothermal heat pump (GHP) system, through which ground-source energy is absorbed to cool and heat the court. The system consists of indoor heat pump equipment, a ground loop, and a flow center to connect the indoor and outdoor equipment. The pumps use the relatively constant temperature of the shallow underground layer, with the ground loops installed in a vertical well or a horizontal loop. In the case of the court, loops are installed in 37 vertical walls
